Megan Lee Crockett
Art has always taken center stage in Megan Crockett's life.
She began winning art contests at an early age. Growing up in Sequin, Washington and later moving to Northern Virginia, Megan found inspiration in nature's organic forms as well as in a city's architecture.
After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Megan returned to her first love: art. She earned her art degree from the University of Mary Washington during which time, she interned at the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts.
Megan’s artistic style is varied: she moves easily from realism to the whimsical abstract. She especially enjoys creating scenes of downtown Fredericksburg and its surrounding areas.
In addition, she creates still life and religious paintings. And although she has explored a variety of drawing mediums, encaustic painting and screen printing, she currently works in acrylic, oil and ceramic.
In addition to creating beautiful art, she also loves a long walk or jog. Megan and her husband James settled in Fredericksburg twelve years ago and are an active members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
