Young Portrait Artists Inspired at BSG

Portrait of BSG Scarecrow by Andrew

If you visit downtown, historic Fredericksburg this weekend, you'll immediately notice the proliferation of scarecrows on Fredericksburg streets.

But Brush Strokes Gallery has added its own special twist to the weekend's harvest "spirit" and the Fredericksburg scarecrows, sponsored by local businesses.

A bowl of crayons and a large piece of paper stand near the BSG scarecrow, and young and aspiring artists are invited to capture the scarecrow's likeness on paper.

Looking for artistic inspiration? Embracing the artist spirit, children and young people have already created masterpieces! Their portraits of the gallery's Halloween mascot are sure to bring visitors a smile.

In fact, the art-making continues this Saturday, October 31, in conjunction with the downtown trick-or-treat event. Children will not only be able to create portraits of Brush Strokes' scarecrow, but they will also be given a few coloring supplies to take home with them.

Stop by Brush Strokes and join the fun! We promise we won't "spook" you! In fact, at Brush Strokes, you'll find no tricks; just treats for the artistic soul!

Brush Strokes Gallery is open 11-5 pm daily, 824 Caroline Street, Suite B.
