Creativity Comes Home
Brush Strokes Artists first found their creative home when another local cooperative gallery sought a group to complete its lease at 108 Hanover Street.
Three whirlwind days after accepting the lease, Bonnie Halford and 11 other artists launched Brush Strokes Gallery!
The gallery's opening on March 1, 2004 and its initial First Friday Tour of Galleries launched what has proven to be a dynamic past and present.
Just after opening its doors, the gallery faced a tornado watch - complete with rain, hail, thunder, and finally, a beautiful double rainbow!
The sky's watercolors, in fact, promised beautiful things to come! Brush Strokes Gallery has since moved to its location at 824 Caroline Street and there, its artists have established a creative community they can truly call home. And for local and out-of-town guests Brush Strokes has truly become "Fredericksburg's Fine Art Destination."
Today, Brush Strokes Gallery continues to feature original fine art to compliment every décor.
Original artworks include painting, drawing, photography, jewelry, sculpture, textiles and glass.
Located in the heart of historic Fredericksburg, the gallery is just a short walk down the hall of 824 Caroline Street.
Brush Strokes’ exhibits change once a month and new works can be seen starting with a reception on the First Friday of each month from 6 to 9 PM.
Gallery doors open daily from 11am to 5pm in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg.
