Meet Artist Midge Dreelin

After a demanding 40+year career owning and managing businesses, including a Virginia farm with show horses, donkey, 54 chickens and 5 thriving Airbnbs, Midge discovered her passion for painting later in life.  She needed an activity to occupy her mind after her husband passed, painting rabbits and sweet pet faces were both enjoyable and very comforting for her.  She took commissions for Pet Portraits as her first "Artist" endeavor.

 

She no longer has the responsibilities of the farm, she's nestled in a serene view of Virginia's Blue Ridge mountains where she creates art that celebrates what makes her smile: the miracle of big blooms, roses, peonies and her beloved blue hydrangeas.  She paints her memories of Emerald Isle, NC, those ever-present Blue Ridge mountains and an occasional pet portrait.

 

Her paintings, rich with vibrant blues and inspired by nature's wonders, reflect a lifetime of resilience, joy, and discovery.  As a self-taught artist, Midge pours her entrepreneurial spirit and love for beauty into every brushstroke.  Her paintings have found homes through-out Virginia and seeing a familiar pet that she brought to life on canvas brings her enormous joy!
